LOGIC GATE             A basic logic gate is a fundamental tool of a digital circuit. A logic gate is an arrangement of electrically controlled switches. At any moment, every terminal is in one of two binary conditions: low (0) or high (1) There are seven basic logic gates that can be used in a digital circuit: AND, OR, XOR (exclusive OR), NOT (a logic inverter), NAND (an AND gate followed by a NOT gate) , NOR (a combination OR gate followed by an inverter) and XNOR (exclusive NOR)       Two of the most commonly used logic families are complementary metal oxide silicon (CMOS) and transistor-transistor logic (TTL). In a CMOS IC, both P-type and N-type MOSFET transistors are used.       The CMOS was originally made with a oxide insulator material. Most CMOSs today use a polysilicon material.
